Walter Hunter Veitch

1927 – 2006

Walter Hunter Veitch died Sept 5th at his home. Walt was born in Ancrum, Scotland, October 23rd, 1927. He is survived by his wife Isobel, son Ian (Teresa) of Vernon & his daughter Marjorie (Colin) of Kamloops, 4 grandsons Wesley, Jeremy and Tyson & Brett, and his sister Madelaine Roberts of Oswestry, England.

Walter & Isobel immigrated to Canada in 1957. They lived in Lavington, B.C. for many years before moving to the BX. Walter owned and operated Courtesy Motors and was a Vernon Lions Club and Army & Navy member before retiring to the golf course and curling rink. Walt had 11 great retirement years of doing what he loved – golfing and curling. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of Walt’s great pals who phoned, stopped by for a beer and a laugh and showed their support through the last couple of months.

Please no flowers by family’s request. Donations can be made in memory of Walter to the Vernon Street Clinic, 2900-32nd Ave, Vernon, B.C. V1T 2L5. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Sept. the 9th at 3 pm at the Army & Navy Hall.
