SKOBALSKI, V. WALTER passed away at Desert Valley Care Centre, Osoyoos, January 15, at the age of 95. Survived by son Edward, Oroville, WA, brother William (Jean), several nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents, wife Mary, and brother Ted. Walter was born in Poland in 1905, and immigrated to Canada with his mother and brother after WWI. His father had come to Canada before the war. The family settled in Mundare, AB. Walter’s first job was with the Bank of Commerce in Willingdon, AB. The family settled in Coldstream in 1928 and Walter joined them soon after. He worked in various orchards and on the family farm, and later at R. H. Macdonald’s Packing House and at NOCA Dairy. His last venture was at the Kal Hotel. Following the death of his wife, Mary, Walter moved to Osoyoos to be near his son. Many will recall his beautiful display of begonias at his 39th Avenue home. Walter often commented on the excellent care, comfort and attention given by the staff at Desert Valley Care Centre. No Service. Cremation.
