February 8, 1945 - March 7, 2025

Wayne passed away peacefully at home in Vernon in the company of his family on March 7, 2025. He will be truly missed by his wife Linda, sister Dianne, daughters Jill (James), Catherine, Sarah (Mike), stepdaughters Jennifer (Brad) and Heather, ten grandchildren and niece Christina (John) and nephew Michael (Stephanie). He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Darcy (Paul).

Wayne's drive to succeed and strong work ethic started at an early age - helping his dad at the Shell station as a child, setting up a car detailing and truck washing business on weekends in high school, and maintaining and driving trucks during the summers while he completed his law degree at the University of British Columbia. He worked hard as a solo practitioner for most of his legal career, in the office he loved in False Creek, and for the last few years of his practice, with his stepdaughter, Heather, as his assistant.

Wayne was single-minded in providing for his family and was happiest when hosting family dinners. Wayne knew what he liked and made a real effort to share those things with the people closest to him, especially skiing at Whistler, meals at his favorite restaurants in Vancouver, boating on the Neepawa and vacations in Palm Desert, Hawaii, Mexico and Europe. He also found joy in the simplest of things for which he will be most remembered, like Purdy's chocolates, sitting in the sun, listening to music, Davison's carrot cake and driving (frequently too fast) in his convertible.

Wayne lived his life on his terms right to the end. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly. His legacy of love, generosity and resilience will continue to inspire those fortunate to have been part of his life.

Thank you to the many Interior Health care aides and hospital staff who assisted with Wayne's care over the past couple of years.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson Society British Columbia.

A celebration of Wayne's life will take place at the Kelowna Yacht Club, 1370 Water St., Kelowna at 1 PM on Saturday May 31, 2025.
