The late George Wesley Funnell 1920 – 2007

Funnell, George Wesley “Wes”: of Penticton, BC passed away peacefully on September 10th at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years.

Wes will be fondly remembered by his son Larry (Sharon); granddaughters Racquel Funnell and Lesli (Jamie) Meyer as well as great-grandchildren Cailan, Kyle and Jordan.He was predeceased by his loving wife Eileen Phyllis Funnell; one brother and four sisters.Wes was born on May 15, 1920 in Coronation, AB. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Canadian Artillery with the 14th Field Regiment. Over the years Wes farmed in Vermilion, AB before moving to Peachland where he farmed a small orchard and drove a school bus. Both Wes and Eileen formed a small band and played for many dances in Alberta and the Peachland areas. He then retired to Vernon before relocating to Penticton for his final five years.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday September 22nd at the chapel of Everden Rust Funeral Home, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton, BC.
