We regret to announce the death at Creekside Landing on December 17, 2010, of Wesley Moore at the age of 90 years. Wes is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doris; one son, Kenneth (Pat) Moore of Vernon; two daughters, Marjorie (John) Den Hoed of Calgary and Noreen (Lawrence) Ewert of Swift Current, SK; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Wes was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Stanley, and Keith.
Wes was born in Calgary in 1920 and was raised on a farm at Three Hills, AB. He attended the Olds School of Agriculture and was a graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He served four years in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and was a long time instructor at S.A.I.T and was a life member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Wes moved to Vernon with his wife Doris (nee Wilkinson) in 1973 and was active in the Canadian Mental Health Society, Trinity United Church and the Vernon and District Family History Society.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Vernon Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Thompson officiating. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Creekside Care Facility who gave him special care since June 2008, also to Dr. Dippenaar for care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wes may be made to a charity of your choice.
