Wilfred Desmond Lynch "Wilf" passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on September 28, 2017 at the age of 88.

He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife Florence and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Thomas, his sisters Dorine, Wynabel and Rita and brothers Dorian and Ted.

Wilf was born in Espanola, Ontario. He first worked for the railway before joining the army and navy. Wilf then became a heavy diesel equipment operator building roads for the lumber industry in Ontario and British Columbia.

He trained to became a paramedic working in Delta and Vernon and enjoyed teaching these skills to students at the Justice Institute.

Always active, Wilf was a Scout Master, started the Delta Ground Pounders running club, worked tirelessly for Vernon Sister City organization as well as bowling. He enjoyed his retirement travelling and RVing with Florence, golfing, singing with the Schubert choir, bowling and mastering Japanese, Spanish and German for his overseas vacations.

He and Florence welcomed visitors and family to their home from all over the world.

Wilf will always be remembered for his wonderful story telling as well as tea leaves and palm readings.

Wilf was a Baha'i and there will be a graveside service at Coldstream Municipal Cemetery on Howe Drive off Kalamalka Road, Saturday, September 30 at 2:30 p.m.

Prayers and a reception at 3:30 p.m. at Friesen's County Tyme Gardens, 9172 Kalamalka Road, Coldstream
