MR. WILFRED HENRY PHELPS passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31st, 2004 in Hospice House at the age of 90 years. Dad was known by his family and friends as Henry. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith in 1994, his daughter, Florence in 1991 and his granddaughter, Sandra in 1999. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted companion, Ann Vardon, his sons, Lyle (Margaret) and Dale (Janice), his grandchildren, Ross, Wesley, Kathleen, Christina and Alana, his great-grandchildren, Taya, Cory and Jesse, his sister, Gladys Unruh and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on November 26th, 1913 and moved to Vernon with his new bride, Edith in 1938. After spending many years at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital as an orderly, he went into the Life Insurance business in 1958, spending the rest of his working years with Canada Life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank Ann for the love and devotion she gave Henry. They would also like to thank the Home Care nurses and the staff at Hospice House for making Henry’s final days more comfortable. Cremation preceded the Memorial Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 5th, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
