William Kirby (Bill) Batter

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of William Kirby Batter on April 30, 2014 in Vernon, British Columbia.

Bill was born June 5, 1938 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He will be missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Doreen; sons Brad (Deb) of Sooke, B.C. And Kevin (Candace) of Kamloops; five grandchildren: Brianne and Braedon of Fort St. John, Paige of Kamloops, Chantal of Airdrie and Devyn of Chilliwack. He is also survived by sister Shirley Derry of Hanna, Alberta, and numerous extended family members.

Bill joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1961 and served 30 years to his retirement in 1991 and achieved the rank of Sergeant.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 1:00 P.M., in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with a reception to follow in the Tea Room.

Those friends wishing to make donations in memory of Bill may do so to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, or the charity of their choice.
