William Frederick (Fred) Beday

was born on September 10th, 1946 in Cranbrook, B.C. and passed away with his family at his side on April 19th, 2009 in the North Okanagan Hospice House at the age of 62 years. He passed away just as he had lived, with dignity and bravery, after having fought a very courageous battle with cancer.

Fred was a long time resident of Lumby and will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lana, to whom he was married for 34 years; three children, Trenton (Sasha) Beday of Airdrie, Alberta, Brandon Beday and Aimee Beday, both of Lumby, B.C.; one grandson, Dominic; his mother, Ruth Beday of Vernon, B.C.; one sister, Judy (Garth) Scott of Kitimat, B.C.; two nieces, Shannon Scott and Pam Scott, both of Ontario; and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Beday on February 8th, 1989; his mother and father-in-law, LaVerne Schneider on May 10th, 1991 and Donald “Grampa” Schneider on October 14th, 1998.

Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Fred’s Life which will be held at the Lumby Curling Rink on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Fred to the North Okanagan Hospice House, 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4.
