It is with great sorrow we wish to announce the passing of Bill in the early morning of June 29, 2009 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Bill was born in 1923 on the Gaspe coast of Quebec but lived most of his life in British Columbia.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mildred (Mickey) of 54 years as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends.
During World War II, Bill served in the R.C.A.F overseas as a wireless operator. After the war he was with the Government of Canada and served the First Nations people as an agent in Northern B.C. and Yukon. Later, he and Mickey settled in Vernon, B.C. where they developed and operated Okanagan Terrace Mobile Home Park. Bill also spent many years as a Real Estate agent in the Vernon area.
Bill enjoyed being part of seniors groups, playing bridge and traveling in their R.V. He was an accomplished pilot and always enjoyed flying.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses on the third floor at the hospital and the folks at daybreak on Monday mornings at the Gateby.
Funeral arrangements are with Personal Alternatives Services and a Celebration of Life service will take place at 11:00am on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1204 – 30th Ave, Vernon, B.C.
