William (Bill) Leonard Oakes

William (Bill) Leonard Oakes passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon BC on Saturday August 21, 2010 at the age of 78 years. Bill will be missed by his loving wife Audrey of Armstrong; his children Cathleen (Cliff) Bouillet of Port Moody, Donna (Reid) Oakes of 108 Mile Ranch, Susan (John) Solvey of Westbank, Thomas (Sheila) Oakes of White Rock, Ellony (Rick) Jones of Abbotsford; his grandchildren Shannon Bouey of Maple Ridge, Blair Bouillet of Coquitlam, Leslie Bouillet of Port Moody, Jeffrey Todd of Red Deer, Kathryn Todd of Burnaby, Richard Tobin of Kelowna, Liam Oakes of White Rock, Matthew Bridsen of Abbotsford, Ashley Benson of Abbotsford; his brother Stan Oakes of Cache Creek; and several extended family members and friends. Bill was predeceased by his brother Lloyd Oakes. Born in Rutland BC on September 20, 1931. Bill helped build and is an honourary member of the Royal Canadian Legion #35 in Armstrong BC. Bill’s career of choice was plumbing. Bill was passionate about hockey. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday August 28 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong BC. Reverend Ted Roworth officiating. A Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #35, 2526 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Armstrong BC.
