November 2, 1923 - June 9, 2017

With heavy hearts and fond memories and love, we announce the passing of William Clifford Mayze. He was born in Dauphin, MA to his parents, James and Margaret. He was the only son and the oldest of four children which included his sisters Rita, Alice and Evelyn.

Celebrating his life is his daughter Sharon and Wes Heltman and son Ken and Kim Mayze, step-children Pat and Kathy and their families, his sister Evelyn Anderson and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Cliffy was well known in his town of Vernon and he had many past times such as gardening, playing poker and socializing at Army & Navy and Legion to play his beloved Keno. He was 68 years young when he won the perfect crib hand of 29-points at the Legion where his hand is framed and on the wall. A member of Local 97 Ironworkers Union, his legacy is found in projects such as Second Narrows Bridge, Canada Place, Grouse Mountain Gondolas and Vernon Hospital to name a few. He will be deeply missed by all. He was a member of the Elks Club for 25 years and the Celebration of Life will be at the Elks Club at 3103 30th Street on Saturday, September 16 from 1-4.
