April 21, 1931 - January 20, 2019
William Garry O'Rourke passed away January 20, 2018 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a fall.
He was born April 21, 1931 in Vancouver, BC, spent his professional years in Calgary, AB, and retired to Vernon, BC. While attending University of British Columbia Law School, Bill was also a Flight Officer in the RCAF Reserve Squadron 442. As a career he chose corporate law over aviation and went on to become a vice president of a major Canadian oil company.
Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife Trudy. He deeply appreciated and enjoyed the extended family he became a part of upon marrying Trudy. Bill is survived by his daughter Shelley (Robin), his sons Brian, and Mark (Linda), and many grandchildren.
His ashes will be buried in an interment ceremony at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Vernon Cemetery (also known as Pleasant Valley Cemetery) 4311 Pleasant Valley Road. All are welcome to attend. Please do not send flowers or gifts.
