Bernerd William “Bud”
was born on April 25th, 1922 in Logan, Oklahoma and was called Home to be with his Lord on July 29th, 2010 at the age of 88 years.
He left this world just as he had lived, with peace and dignity, and surrounded by his family.
Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife Fran, to whom he would have been married for 70 years on October 19th; two sons, Ted (Carolyn) of Jacksonville, Florida and Randy (Mardi) of Ontario, Oregon; one daughter, Debra (Eric) Colter of Vernon, B.C.; five grandchildren, Dana, Diana, Eric (Trina), Tenille (Doug) and Tiffany (Brett); seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Don of La Grande, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry; and one sister, Pat Leonard.
Over the years Bud loved boating, waterskiing, fishing, hunting and horses. Bud’s greatest love however was his relationship with God and Christ for they have always been the foundation that his life was built on. His devotion to the Lord has resulted in devotion to his family and their well being. Always the entrepreneur, Bud and Fran always worked side by side in family run businesses including gas stations, roller skating rinks, pig farms, vending machines, camper sales and campsites. His drive and desire to provide for his family saw him running three different businesses at one point in his life.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Bud’s Life which was held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Murray Ververda officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Bud to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C.
