LYSAK, William (Bill)

1927 – 2010

The family and friends of Bill Lysak are sad to announce his passing on Friday, June 18th, 2010. Bill valiantly fought his battle with pancreatic cancer for a year.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary, sons, Wayne of Vernon, and Daryl (Robin) of Calgary, daughter, Diane of Calgary, four grandchildren: Krimson, Jaime, Tyler and Mattthew, sisters, Ann of Calgary and Jean (John) of Calgary.

Bill was predeceased by his father, Phillip, mother, Mary, and brother, Fred. Bill was born in Calgary. He worked for the CPR for seven years and then went to work for Canada Post for thirty-one years. Bill and Mary moved to Vernon in 1984 and have spent the last twenty-six years here. Bill took up golf and became an avid player. He also enjoyed square dancing, horseshoes, crib and playing cards with friends.

The family would like to thank Community Care Health Nurses for their help and support along with Dr. Stephen Friesen and Dr. Edward Hardy and staff.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
