McNamara, William CRAIG
March 11, 1941- March 2, 2014
Craig died at the North Okanagan Hospice House in Vernon on March 2nd after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. Craig was born March 11, 1941 in Regina to W.C. (Bill) and Margaret McNamara and grew up in Winnipeg. Craig worked over 30 years at Memorial University, St. John’s and then retired to the cabin he built on Gambo Pond, Newfoundland. He reminisced often of the adventures with friends ‘on the pond’. He relocated to Enderby, BC to be closer to family and had many happy cross-country ski days with his sister Sharon and brother-in law Erich. Craig was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Gail Rice and Sharon Wurmann. He is survived by his sister Sandra Horton of Waterloo and brother-in-laws Bob Horton, Bob Rice of Toronto and Erich Wurmann of Winnipeg. He is affectionately remembered by his nine nieces and two nephews, all whom have fond memories of their bachelor Uncle Craig.
Special thanks to his friend Sherry and the caring staff of the Community Care team in Enderby and North Okanagan Hospice House. Thank you to Dr. Brett Poulin for your wonderful care of Craig. No funeral on request.
