Steve was born on December 25th, 1933 in Spallumcheen to Wasyl and Sophie (Mazur) Woronchak and passed away the evening of March 25th, 2023 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital while spending his final hours with family.
Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley (nee Seminiuk), to whom he was married for 64 years; two daughters, Bonnie (Lyle) Parkinson and Stephanie (Keith) Mann; four grandchildren, Krystin (Colin), Kendra (Bradley), Skylar and Declan, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Steve farmed 400 acres of grain and alfalfa in Larkin and expanded operations to include the valley's first automated hog barn. Retiring in 1986, Steve traveled the world together with family and wintered at Country Roads in Yuma. He was an active member of the Armstrong Curling Club and the Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club.
Steve's storytelling, wit and joy for life will be celebrated at a Service which will be held at All Saint's Anglican Church on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Canon Chris Harwood-Jones officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Church Columbarium followed by a Reception in the Parish Hall.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Steve to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 5L2
