With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William (Bill) Thomas Walker at his home in Vernon, just shy of his 85th birthday.

Born to Rupert "Darky" and Mary Walker in Siglunes, Manitoba, Bill lived in Winnipeg until 1978 when he and the love of his life, Ruth Holmberg, joined together and moved to BC.

Bill had a good life, working for Manitoba Electric, CN, Colour Your World manager, airport security, sales & accounting, and his own business ventures. He enjoyed golf, fishing, TV sports, crosswords, cribbage, curling, silly old songs, RV travel, and told heartwarming tales of his dogs.

Bill was a Canadian Militia veteran, and member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Conservative Party of Canada.

Memories will be cherished by his wife of 40 years, Ruth Holmberg, stepson Kenneth Holmberg, stepdaughters June Vollans (Gary King) and Beverly Holmberg Mounsey (Gordon Smith), niece Valory (Steve) Beka, grandchildren Stefania, Curtis & Bill, great-grandson Caige, great-nephews Bill and Lorne, his faithful dog Jake, and many other friends and extended family.

Special thanks to those who attended on his last night, for your kindness and professionalism.

Memorial donations to the BC Lung Association. No service by Bill's wishes.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
