Wilma Gauthier

On February 20th, 2009 Wilma passed away peacefully after several years of deteriorating health. She was a gentle, loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Wilma was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob, to whom she was married for 57 years; her son, Bill (Sharon) and daughter, Susan (Mike) Hoyland; her grandchildren, Leanne (Kevin), Jeff (Debbie), Russ (Naomi), Rob (Jenny) and Kylie; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Lorraine (Norman) Galloway; her brother, Jack (Greta) Tolley; her sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bob) Cooper as well as many extended family members and friends.

Wilma was born in Vancouver, B.C. at Grace Hospital on November 20th, 1932 to Wilfred & Marjorie Tolley. She met and later married Bob Gauthier on January 25th, 1952. They spent their lives as self employed business people with Wilma always working beside her husband. From commercial blue berry farmers, chicken ranchers, apartment owners, commercial salmon fish buyers and fishing resort owners, she was a real gem, continuing to be her husband’s partner until their retirement.

Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Wilma’s Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Gregg Jeske officiating. A Reception will follow at the Eagles Hall, 5101-25th Avenue (beside The Morning Star). The family would like to thank the Staff at Good Samaritan, Heron Grove Cottage #6 for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Wilma these last several years.
