Wilma “Billie” Doreen Hill

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Wilma “Billie” Doreen Hill passed away on October 30, 2011 in Enderby, BC at 82 years of age. Billie will be lovingly remembered by her five children Kenneth, Debbie (Terry), Randy (Denise), Tannis and Robbie and her seven grandchildren Richard, Sherri, Sara, Lori-Ann, David, Ian, and Chloe. Also mourning her loss is her brother Ken and many friends. Billie was born on October 17, 1929 in Kelowna, BC to Lillian and Jack Lynes. From a young age, Billie loved sports. She won many awards in basketball, swimming and gymnastics. On November 12, 1949, she married Gordon “Bud” Hill in Enderby, BC. They raised a family there and later in Prince George, BC. When Billie and Bud retired, they were keen golfers and met many friends on the Prince George and Royal York golf courses. In 1996, the couple returned to Armstrong, BC. They made many friends along the way. Bud passed away in 2003. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (#104 3402 27 Avenue, Vernon BC V1T 1S1, www.cancer.ca) or to the North Okanagan Hospice Society (3506 27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4, www.nohs.ca).
