Wilma Garland Savard, age 78 years, passed away peacefully at Armstrong, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 30, 2006. She will be sadly missed by husband Henry of Armstrong; five daughters and three sons Linda (Harold) Munro of Nipawin, Sk., Rita (Brent) Melvin of Armstrong, Don (Debbie) Savard of Nanoose Bay, BC, Pat Savard of Kamloops, Maryellen (Richard) Skinner of Comox, Beverly (Lyall) Hunter of Glen Ellen, California, Fay (Russ) Konrad of Armstrong and Dale (Fiona) Savard of Bellingham, Wash.; twenty-two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters Ellen Waldo of Parma, Idaho, Sarah (Jim) Lofting of Monmouth, Oregon and Mabel (Roy) Hyde of Aloha, Oregon; two sisters-in-law Grace Garland and Carolyn Garland. Predeceased by parents Lila and Ewart Garland and three brothers Ray, Don and Jim Garland. Wilma was born at Rex, Oregon on July 9, 1927. She was a long time resident of Vanderhoof before moving to the Okanagan in the mid 1980’s and has resided in the area since. Wilma was kind and generous, enjoyed quilting, knitting, spending time with family, friends, her coffee group and at Curves. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Armstrong Bible Chapel, Armstrong. Interment in family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery.
