Winona Steinley


It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Shirley Winona Steinley (McIntyre). Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she has at last found peace and comfort. Shirley was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on January 12, 1932 to Sandy and Alice McIntyre. Shirley lived in Regina and Calgary for much of her early life, until moving to Vernon with her husband and children in 1965. Shirley was a teacher in a variety of schools in Vernon for thirty years, and always had fond memories of her students and co-workers. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth; daughter in law of Katherine Steinley of Calgary, and the loving mother of Sandy (Anne), Dean, and Grant(predeceased 1981). Shirley was also an adoring grandmother to Katelyn, Samantha, Alex, and David. Memorial service to be officiated by Minister B. Jackson at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Monday October 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Tea to follow at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
