December 20, 1932 - February 14, 2019
On February 14, 2019, after 86 well-lived years, our Husband, Father, Brother-In-Law, Uncle and Friend, Wray Finlay, passed away after a short time with cancer.

Born with his twin, Ross, on December 20, 1932, and raised in Ontario, Wray was the last surviving sibling in his family of 5 sisters and 7 brothers.

Wray served in Korea with the P.P.C.L.I., and after his return, he was stationed in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  While there, he met his 'Future', Anita Cant.

They married on March 12, 1955, and spent their early years of marriage in Ontario and Saskatchewan before heading west to BC.  Wray embraced new opportunities, and always made making life better for his family his main priority. Wray and Anita had so many great adventures in their life together toward that goal.

Wray leaves behind, to miss him very much, his Wife and Best Friend of 64 years, Anita, his Son Brian, his Daughter Judy and Son-in-law Kevin. Also missing Wray will be his extended family on both his and Anita's side.  He will be remembered by a great group of friends, and was nick-named by some affectionately as "The Fin". As one friend said, 'The world lost a great guy. And a great jokester!" One golfing buddy reminded us of the water on #17 on The Ridge at Predator Ridge they called Finlay Bay because so many of Wray's drives ended up there.

Wray and Anita enjoyed many fun times, together with friends,  golfing at Predator Ridge when at home, and winters golfing at Black Lake, California, and then in Indio, California.

Wray's family would like to extend special thank-you to Dr. Gavin Smart for his years of care, and especially in these recent weeks, and to our special group of nurses at VJH for helping us through the last two weeks we had together.

A Celebration of Wray's life will take place in the Spring.
