Ann was born on March 6, 1940 in Mission, BC, the eldest of Tayeko and John Hashizume's six children.

Ann played varsity basketball at the University of Alberta and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education. She taught school in Alberta, Germany, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. She married Allan Johnson on April 17, 1976. Ann moved to Vernon, which she called "paradise", in 1999 and quickly become involved in the local community.

Ann had a passion for healthy living and helping others, and loved to curl, ski, and golf with friends. She played in many bonspiels and volunteered her time with junior curlers, literacy students, the Vernon Performing Arts Centre, the Vernon Japanese Cultural Society, and her strata council.

Ann found joy in her many friendships, her family, nature's beauty, and sharing food and wine.

Ann is survived by her daughter Tomiko Johnson and her grandson Kieran Johnson Lam, as well as by her mother Tayeko, her sisters Ruth and Grace, and her brothers Robert, Howard, and Reginald.

A Celebration of Ann's Life will take place on March 25 at 1 PM at the Vernon Golf Club at 800 Kalamalka Lake Rd.
