We are the individuals who handed out thank you cards to some of Vernon’s finest, earlier this summer. We have seen your story and wanted to express our sincerest gratitude for the joy this small act has brought to our lives.
We just wanted to say thank you for the work you do to people who keep us safe in this community. We know that sometimes we all take certain things for granted and we forget there are people behind those uniforms, with friends and family who love them. We know that everyone has a story, and in all honesty, I think most of us just want to be seen and understood and appreciated for who we are. We just wanted to let them know that they are appreciated.
What we, ourselves have learned from this is that no act of kindness is too small. If, in some small measure we can each reach out to another individual and express kindness toward them, no matter who they are or where they come from, then that is how we change the world; one act of kindness at a time. The joy we have received from knowing that we made a small difference in someone else’s life makes us want to do it again and again and again.
So, be on the lookout.
