Blue box woes

Resident concerned new recycling program will be physically challenging

Re: Editorial recycling program creates problems April 16 and Jennifer Smith’s column April 24.

The articles dealt with economic, financial and storage problems arising from the new-fangled recycling program.

However, there are other issues involved which pertain to a large segment of our population, namely the senior citizens and all of those who depend on walking devices to remain ambulant.

How will they be able to haul the heavy, restrictive and unwieldy boxes to the curb?

How many falls, broken bones and worse will occur for the sake of a lame-brained scheme dreamt up by bureaucrats?

The blue bag works just fine, used according to need and capability, as well as ease to handle.

Why force us into a system of costly, difficult, un-asked for and unwanted changes?
