I have two questions for Vernon-Monashee candidates Eric Foster and Barry Dorval. I would like to see a public answer to decide if I can give the candidate my vote May 9.
Do you support including paramedics in the Fire and Police Services Collective Bargaining Act and removing paramedics from the Hospital Facilities Bargaining Association, returning them to their own bargaining unit?
What are you going to do to fix the problem of having the majority of our ambulances tied up at hospitals babysitting low-acuity patients in hallways because the hospitals won’t staff nurses to meet their responsibility?
This is an almost daily occurrence in Vernon, resulting in ambulances from Armstrong, Enderby, Lumby, and Lake Country responding to calls in Vernon. Someone is going to die because our emergency resources are not being used appropriately.
