Cartoon upsets

I was shocked. Ingrid Rice’s cartoon in the April 12 Morning Star, under your very bold declaration, OurView, emphatically stated that, “when you consider B.C.’s economic growth was better under the NDP than the Liberals.” This is a downright fallacy or alternate truth, or?

According to Wikipedia, and my recollection, the B.C. NDP governed the province from 1972 to 1975 and was turfed, then again from 1991 to 2001 (including John Horgan), losing power that year to the B.C. Liberals.

They were left with only two seats, for good reason. Both NDP governments brought B.C. to its economic knees under David Barrett, Mike Harcourt, Glen Clark, Dan Miller, and Ujjal Dosanjh, who later defected to the federal Liberals.

For Rice to say that, “B.C.’s economic growth was better under the NDP than the Liberals,” is indicative of the need for Rice to take a crash course in the real meaning and consequences of Trump and alternative facts.

And since this bold, fallacious declaration was made under The Morning Star banner of OurView, it would seem appropriate and necessary for The Morning Star to publicly declare a retraction.
