Just when you thought you'd heard everything, Vernon city hall comes up with another way to waste your tax dollars — $9,000 for brochures to explain where to donate to the Salvation Army and other charities to help alleviate panhandling downtown.
Here's a thought. Have the bylaw officers enforce the bylaws. You don't see panhandling at the malls. They don't put up with it. It's about time the downtown merchants got help from city hall. Panhandling will destroy the downtown core.
