Column lacking

Regarding Peter Critchley's column about Canadian stories of the Second World War.

Regarding Peter Critchley's column about Canadian stories of the Second World War.

A friend of mine in Vernon is a war bride who married a Canadian solder while he was stationed in England.

When her husband and the rest of the troops were shipped out, they went to Sicily.

There were hundreds of Canadians who never came back from there. My friend says her husband never talked about what happened there.

When I lived on Vancouver Island in a retirement home, I talked with as few veterans and they said they thought the Italian campaign was the worst of all of the phases of the war they had participated in.

I'm disappointed that these places were not mentioned in your column regarding stories of the Second World War.
