Crosswalk request

Resident provides their thoughts on the rainbow issue in Vernon

What if I, as a Christian, would request that a rainbow crosswalk be painted in downtown Vernon not to symbolize the inclusivity of the LGBTQ community, but to remind all people of the god who gave us, some 3,000 years ago, the rainbow as a sign of the covenant he made with Noah (remember the song, Who built the ark, Noah, Noah . . . ).

That very first rainbow was a gift from God, meant to be a reminder of his promise that never again would he send a flood that would cover the entire earth.

So, what if I, as a Christian, asked the town council to have this Christian symbol painted in downtown Vernon?

I think we all know what the answer would have been for such a request.

Inclusivity?

I don’t feel it.

I am not asking for the rainbow, a symbol of my Christian faith, to be painted downtown as a crosswalk, and I don’t think any other group should ask for this either.
