We all need to get out and vote.
Just because you feel you are not being listened to does not mean you the voter should go home and curl up on the couch and whine! You and me, the voter, need to get out and be heard. And now is the time to be heard.
The time has come for change. Recently, history was made with a noon-hour protest march on 43rd Avenue. This march sent a strong message to city hall about a road-narrowing project. This march was participatory democracy.
Participatory democracy strives to create opportunities for all members of a political group to make meaningful contributions to decision-making, and seeks to broaden the range of people who have access to such opportunities. Individual participation by citizens in political decisions and policies that affect their lives, especially directly rather than through elected representatives.
We need change.
