It’s election time again and it’s no surprise to see these letters appearing.
Health care and education dominate provincial spending, and both have room for vast improvements in how services are delivered to hard-pressed taxpayers. The solutions can’t just be endless increases in spending.
As a former chair of administrative studies and a tenured faculty member, I witnessed first hand that many dedicated and well meaning people in the economically sheltered educational community are simply unhinged from the economic imperatives that drive the real world. This is to be expected. However, the rest of us are duty bound to exercise some critical thinking as we weigh our choices at the ballot box.
