Enforcement needed

Letter writer expresses concerns about activities in downtown Vernon

As  a 66-year-old retiree in this wonderful city that has been my home since 1984, I find it very annoying that various beggars spend from morning until night in front of downtown stores soliciting funds from what appears to be a lot of seniors.

There’s nothing like pulling on the heart strings of the elderly?

To have one hand out for money and the other holding on to a cigarette right in front of the door is beyond me.

If they can afford to smoke, they shouldn’t need to beg.

Then there are the regular “musicians” that are hard on the ears to say the least.

It’s time the City of Vernon bylaw enforcement officers did something to get rid of these guys so people can shop in peace.
