Lane dividers

Resident wants safety measures taken on highways in the North Okanagan

The recent fatal accident on Highway 97 between Vernon and Lake Country brings to light the immediate need for highway dividers along major routes.

Traffic closing in at 90 to 100 kilometres an hour should be physically divided either by ditches or barriers.  In a split second, a vehicle can be in the oncoming lane, and the results are often deadly. Please write our MLA and city government to encourage them to work on installing highway dividers along the routes of Highway 97 out of Vernon.
