Your comment of “we may not agree with the punishment, but that is really not relevant…” Really? I Read the Victims’ Bill of Rights and wondering are you kidding? Sir, there are no victims’ rights. It’s so well twisted that it favours the criminal.
Take a walk in my family’s shoes, when my niece was murdered on Halloween night. Being with my sister in triage, and looking into the eyes of the team, knowing there was nothing else they could do, only to have her slip away.
Say what you want as a lawyer but it’s safe to say that the justice system in this country needs to change.
No, we can’t bring her back.
Has this country become one of no accountability? With all due respect, sir, I am one Canadian who is tired of excuses. Don’t suggest to me that this is how it is. The system is old and needs to change.
Canadians need to speak out, not to lawyers or MPs, we’ve tried that already, but it has fallen on deaf ears.
June 4 we will try again, as a family unit we will not give up. If you don’t try, nothing will change.
