I know it’s been some time since Diane Bond and the Okanagan Summer Festival Society were told to look for another location for their visionary 5,500-seat amphitheatre, but this topic recently came up again.
The message delivered was that the organization never got the chance to move through their process, which is unfortunate, but it was clear by lack of support that the project was not viable as presented in the location selected by the society.
I want to thank our MLA, Eric Foster, for making the decision to halt this project before it went any further.
I want to thank him for listening to me, to my neighbours and to my community.
As an elected official, at times you’re called on to make decisions that are not always easy but in this case was clearly the right one putting many minds at ease. Thank you.
