Local MP Mel Arnold , The Morning Star, Wednesday, Oct. 19, has come out with his take on the results of a massive mailout suggesting that a referendum is needed on the intention by the Liberal government to make good on their campaign promise that Oct. 19 2015 was to be the last FPTP (First Past the Post) election in Canada.

I have been paying very close attention to the process the Committee on Electoral Reform has undertaken and how they are moving forward on it.

I  watched MP Scott Reid attempt to justify the results of a recent constituency mailout on electoral reform to CTV’s Evan Soloman on Question Period http://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=973402.

Without providing any information, he said that the majority of Canadians support a referendum on electoral reform based on that mailout response.

Here are the facts. http://creekside1.blogspot.ca/2016/10/the-cons-mini-referendum.html

I encourage everyone to do their own research.

However, it is obvious to me that the manipulation through  misrepresentation of the results was designed to falsely support  the Conservative agenda.

That is disingenuous at best and does not serve the citizens well.

As always people  are entitled to their  own opinion just not their own facts.

Here are the results in this riding.

North Okanagan-Shuswap   MP Mel Arnold.

Votes 2,627. Yes votes 1,933. No votes 660. Undecided 34. Total eligible Electors 94,179.  per cent Response rate 2.79 per cent

This is hardly representative.
