Would someone please explain to me why the City of Vernon continues to do road work on side streets while the main thoroughfares are in dreadful shape — 48th Avenue, 43rd Avenue, Alexis Park Drive, 32nd Avenue, and 30th Avenue to name a few.
The potholes are disgraceful and people are driving zig-zag trying to avoid them as much as possible which is definitely a hazard.
Gateby Place, which services Canterbury Court, Columbus Court and the Gateby care facility, is a very short road but is in dreadful shape too and it is the only access to these facilities for emergency vehicles.
As a comment to an article in the last issue regarding the road lines, I agree a better quality of paint is definitely needed.
All of the curb painting and handicapped spaces were done in our area last spring and they look like they haven’t been touched in years.
