I moved to Vernon in 1994, living close to what is now Gracelands.
In those early years I could go anywhere in town in less than 10 minutes, now it takes twice as long, the reason is more traffic.
However, city council, in its infinite wisdom, is going to increase this timeframe.
Let’s take the proposed narrowing of 43rd Ave. from four lanes to three. I have this suggestion for all council members.
Pick a busy day next summer and go to 32nd Street and 43rd Avenue and try to imagine the traffic chaos at this intersection under your proposal. If any trains go across 43rd Avenue, so much the better. Now, the next day please go to the main intersection in Enderby, and you will find the fruits of your proposed labours.
One last thing, candidates tell us of your positions.
