Roundabout

Resident questions roundabout at Pleasant Valley Road and 35th Avenue

As an East Hill resident who drives Pleasant Valley Road regularly, I am often struck by the seemingly misplaced roundabout at the 35th Avenue intersection.

Why was a roundabout put there when one seems more badly needed at the busier 39th Avenue intersection?

The 35th Avenue roundabout also seems over-engineered and has more distracting road signs than I’ve seen anywhere before. The contrast between the two adjacent intersections is striking.

I realize that Pleasant Valley Road was just torn up and all of the work is now done, but the fact remains that 39th Avenue is as busy, or busier, than 32nd and the roundabout at 32nd Avenue mostly works better than a four-way stop.
