Regarding the furor by some folks in Coldstream being advised they must hook up to the sewer system, when sewer first came to Coldstream, my home on Cunliffe was included in the mandatory hookup designated area.
My home was relatively new with a very adequate septic tank in the backyard.
At significant personal cost — one monthly income — I had to hire a plumber, etc. and have my basement floor and exterior wall jackhammered to allow for installation of the required pipes and the landscaping dug through to the road.
I was not given any choice.
These folks who are complaining need to deal with the situation and get the job done like the rest of us.
Coldstream is growing and we need to look after the basics like water and sewer. I was angry at the time I had to hook up, but have been very grateful I did since.
