Residents provide some advice on dealing with theft at hospitals

In reference to the Marshall family letter in your Aug. 13, paper, my mother-in-law was in hospital in Kamloops a few years ago and similarly lost her wedding ring, a watch and a necklace.

I was able to negotiate a repayment of $1,700 with Royal Inland Hospital.

We also bought a similar ring which was easily accepted by my mother-in-law to show that she was married, although a widow for many years.

Feel free to tell the Marshall family who we are, and I would be completely willing to describe our situation at the time and the argument I used to get some payment.
