I don't think the Cultural Centre is a good idea at this moment in time.
Let's get the Active Living Centre up first.
We all know in these days of supply chain issues, and lets be honest government work, there is lots of room for change orders which will bump up the cost.
I'm all for the new Active Living Centre.
The old Rec Centre was a great facility when it was built and served us well.
At this moment in time it's only one leaking pipe away from being given a do not use.
Open up a wall to fix it and they will find asbestos or something else that is not used today.
We have the theatre and I have attended concerts there and will in the future depending who comes to town.
Personally I think we would get more bang for our buck with an industrial park to bring jobs which bring people and taxes.
Then we could look at a Cultural Centre and the cost won't be so onerous.
