Bantam Canadians ambush Diamondbacks

The Vernon Tim Hortons Canadians improved to 12-4 in Okanagan Spring Bantam AA baseball by crunching the West Kelowna Diamondbacks 16-1 Sunday.

Corey Anderson started and pitched three innings allowing one hit and one run. The Canadians pounded out 16 hits as Jacob Soucey went 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Nathan Nesbitt, Dawson Chase, Cadon Doyle, Corey Anderson and Dax Defelice belted a pair of hits each. Soucey picked up the save as he pitched a perfect final three innings.

The Canadians blanked the Kelowna Cubs 7-0 Saturday with aggressive base running and a balanced lineup. The C’s, coached by Rick Leroux, have won eight straight and 11 of their last 12.

 

Vernon battles the Kamloops Riverdogs Saturday before heading to West Kelowna for a doubleheader with the Diamondbacks to close out their season.
