The Vernon Source for Sports Vipers grounded the Prince George Cougars 9-2 in Sunday’s final of the Salmon Arm Bantam Tier 2 Remembrance Weekend Midget Hockey Tournament.

Colby Feist pulled a hat trick with singles going to Cam Moger, Connor Elliot, Braeden McAmmond, Trevor Kennedy,  Jakob Jones and Chris Reinhardt.

Goaltender Cayden Hamming had an easy time and earned an assist on Vernon’s final goal.

Vernon iced the Glenlake Hawks of Calgary 13-0 Saturday morning and then zapped Quesnel Thunder 10-2 in the afternoon.

Feist, Kennedy and MVP Reinhardt scored twice each against the Thunder. Zack Funk, Moger, Elliot and Steel Quiring had singles.

Kobe Grant took the shutout against Calgary with Feist getting another hat trick and McAmmond, Jacob Boden and K.T. Walters each netting a pair.

Singles went to MVP Mason Robinson, Elliott, Kennedy and Funk. The Source For Sports crew outscored their opponents 37-7 while going 4-0.

The Fix Auto Vipers rallied to tie the West Kelowna Warriors 4-4 and lost 4-1 to Kelowna in Midget Tier 3 road games.

Gavin Fleck, Zach Laranjo, Jake Brewer and Cole Martin supplied goals at Royal LePage Place. Dayton Bryan scored in the loss.

The Fix Auto Vipers lost 3-2 to Penticton in Bantam Tier 3 play.

Gage Stohl and Maddex Minard converted against Penticton with Wettlaufer getting two helpers.

The Salmon Silvertips, with several Vernon-area girls on their roster, dropped a pair of one-goal Midget A Female A games.

The visiting Tips fell 4-3 to Penticton Friday night.

The girls came out flying and scored the first goal of the game two and a half minutes in, courtesy of their power line. Ava Wutke got the goal, set up by Cassidy Marshall and Courtney Graves.

The other Silvertip goals came from Wynter Vanderveen and Brooklyn Davidson, set up by Vanderveen and Carly Southam, who was solid all weekend.

Taylor Thomlinson made 25 saves for the Tips in a 1-0 loss to Kamloops Sunday in Sicamous.Jordan Brunette made 25 saves for the Tips. Marlea Best hustled hard.
