Barrie 22nd in B.C. Amateur

Mackenzie Barrie of Vernon shot a final-round 78 Friday to finish alone in 22nd at the B.C. Women’s Amateur.

Mackenzie Barrie of Vernon shot a final-round 78 Friday to finish alone in 22nd at the  B.C. Women’s Amateur at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen.

Barrie, who plays NCAA golf for the University of Wyoming Cowgirls, finished at 314 after two earlier rounds of 77 and one at 82.

Emery Bardock of Spallumcheen placed 35th after finishing with an 82 Friday for a 330. She posted earlier rounds of 82-78-88.

Coquitlam’s Jisoo Keel won the provincial title at 280, shooting 73 Friday. She was six strokes ahead of Delta’s Mary Parsons, who also carded a 73.

There was a field of 60 players.

Tristan Mandur of Mill Bay fired a 68 Friday to win the B.C. Junior Boys Championship at Arbutus Ridge GC in Cobble Hill. AJ Ewart of Coquitlam was one stroke back.
