Neither team had their starting keeper Monday night at Marshall Field #2 in Vernon.

That didn’t hurt Tree Brewing FC as injured striker Sammy Kimpian was stellar in net as the Brewers toppled Turn-Key Control Ogopogos 3-1 in Capri Insurance Men’s 45+ Soccer League play. Defender Dan Ondzik manned the gloves and sparkled in the Pogo goal.

Roland Guebert supplied two goals and Dave Short one for Tree Brewing (7-5-2), who led 3-0 at the recess. Jeff Nice headed in a free kick which rebounded off the crossbar on a Chris Arneson free kick for Turn-Key (10-3-1).

Penticton TC Auto United dismantled Bosman Accounting 12-1 in A Division play at Parkinson #16. Penticton is 13-1, Bosman 5-8-1. Dave Howes scored for Bosman.

In B side action, the Okanagan Spring Camels brushed back the Pushor Mitchell Rented Mules 2-1 at Marshall #3.

Rick Raber cancelled a fishing derby, pulled his cleats out of the shed and scored in the 10th minute off a sweet through ball from Darren Hansen.

The Humpbacks went up by a deuce five minutes later when Johnny Orton took a feed from Rob Parkin and cruised in from the right flank. The Mules countered shortly after on a toe-poke which fooled substitute keeper Ron Krause.

The Burger King Man of the Match for the Camels was central midfielder Steve Milne.

In other A play, league-leading Brown Benefits bounced the Mission Cleaners 4-1 at Mission Sports Field #13.

Don Brown scored the first Browns’ goal when he sent a powerful volley into the net from a Tony Gonzales cross. Five minutes before the break, Kelly Sherman’s quick free kick caught the Mission defence off guard and he quickly converted.

Gonzales then showed great patience as he deftly deked Mission keeper John Kreutzer and scored to make it 3-0. Tim Austen broke in from the right wing and fired a low strike off the bottom of the post to complete the Browns’ scoring. Mission managed a late consolation goal when Rene Trozzo tucked the ball in from close range.

Brandt’s Creek dispatched Soccer United 4-1 at Mission #10.

First-half goals from Vinny Jones and Keith Seager were followed in the second with a great drive from Jason Bell, and a close ranger from Pat Groening, as the Pubbers improved to 7-6-1.

Walter Morel fired a long shot over the Brandt’s keeper for the 7-6-1 United snipe.
