The defending champs from the province next door will be back to defend their Coca Cola Classic Vernon Winter Carnival Peewee Hockey championship in 2024.

The St. Albert (Alberta) Raiders are one of the seven teams that will join the host Vernon Watkin Motors Mustangs for the 51st version of the tournament Feb. 8-11, 2024, at Kal Tire Place North.

The Raiders defeated the Cranbrook Bucks 4-3 in overtime in the Amy Myles A Division championship in 2023.

Also coming from Alberta are the Calgary Royals and the Okotoks Oilers.

Joining the host Mustangs from B.C. are Okanagan league rivals Penticton Knights, the Coquitlam Chiefs and the East Kootenay Avalanche, based out of Cranbrook.

Rounding out the field from south of the border is the California Goldrush from Lake Forest, in Orange County.

The host Mustangs have played in the tournament’s D final in the past two editions of the Classic in 2020 and 2023. There was no event in 2021 and 2022 due to the pandemic.
