Kids signing up for the Epic Sports Academy multi-sports camp will have a blast with a smorgasbord of sports, July 8-12 at Len Wood Middle School in Armstrong.

“Campers will get to experience a variety of sports, play games, make new friends and improve their skills in a fun environment,” said director Gregg Nicholson, who will be assisted by his wife, Michelle Nicholson.

Kids will play from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. with a break for lunch all five days. There will be a high coach-to-camper ratio and first aid on site. T-shirts, a pizza lunch on the final day and a daily swim are all part of the package.

“Our focus is to provide sports activities that are fun and positive, which reinforce a healthy and active lifestyle for all participants said Gregg, a teacher at Len Wood with 21 years of coaching minor sports. “Our motto is: ‘Putting the fun backinto sports.’”

Both Gregg and Michelle ran the Mini Champs sports camp for seven summers. Michelle teaches at Armstrong Elementary. Staff from Pleasant Valley Secondary and Len Wood will be camp helpers.

Meanwhile, a Minor Games Camp is scheduled for Len Wood from July 29-Aug. 2 with such things as dodge ball, skittle ball, parachute play, Ultimate Frisbee and European handball. Cost of the camps is $150.
